okayyy!!! setelah lama vakum,, akhirnya menulis lagiiii,, singkat cerita,, saya sudah di Singapura sekarang,, cari pengalaman demi membangun bangsa,, hehe,,

anyway I have something to share

batik

I see lots of you wearing these kinds of shirts today. Very nice. What’s this?” atau “Hey, why do you Indonesians all wear Batik today? I thought these kinds of clothing come from India or Malaysia.” Wow, sangat menarik melihat betapa orang luar tuh gak ngerti Batik.

Gunanya banyak. Budaya, ekonomi, bahkan politik. Yang pertama budaya. As you can see, memakai batik saja sudah bisa jadi ajang promosi tentang Indonesia di luar negeri. ^_^

So? Daripada terus2an menginternasionalisasikan Indonesia seperti yang masih dilakukan sebagian besar orang sekarang dengan sok bule atau sok arab (offtopic: seriously, that’s what happened everyday in Indonesia, right? kalo nggak semakin western/bule ya semakin arab), lebih mendingan mengIndonesiakan dunia internasional kan? =)

These few weeks had been great. I’d participated in two great researches. Thanks for all colleagues, we’ve succeeded and gained something valuable from those researches.

We entered those researches into two championships and we succeeded in gaining 1st rank in Rekind Award and 5th rank in National Innovation Contest.

For the Rekind Award, we researched a “Low Speed Generator”. It’s basically a new generator topology that enabled that generator to operate in Low Speed. It’s useful for renewable energy power plants applications such as microhidros, wind power plants, etc.

For the National Innovation Contest, we researched a “Low Speed Optimum Wind Extractor”. It’s a set of devices that enables wind power plants to extract power at low speed. It’s useful in Indonesia because we only had low wind speed here in our country.

The detailed explanations about our researches can be found in http://konversi.wordpress.com/

As for the photos, here they are :D :

VICTORY

phew, it’s been awhile since i get some spare time to write in blog like this :)

now that i get the chance, i’ll wrote about some events happened recently.

The first is that i’ve competed in the PLC programming competitions 2008 and i’ve been successful :D

Fortunately I’ve won first prize! Wow, it was unpredictable since the rivalry had been strict. We competed with people from the whole nation. Literally whole because there are many rivals from faraway places like Sumatera and Sulawesi. The challenge even got bigger because our rivals came from schools where PLC training and education had been compulsory. (For us in ITB Electrical Engineering, we never had any PLC course). I’ve just happen to experience some programming through my Internship. The rest, I’ve gotta learn by myself.

So, well, I’ve expected a prize but not the first one, and when they announce that I’m the first winner, I’m shocked in happiness. Hehe,,, my late sleeping that entire weeks worth something. :D

And to add the happiness, my juniors won the sixth prize too. We’ve high hopes for the juniors for the next competitions.

So here’s the champion lists:

1st Winner
Wisnu Fajar Baskoro dan Fajar Sastrowijoyo (TE ITB)

2nd Winner
Andry Novi Ardi dan Johanes Gunawan (T.Mekatronika POLTEX RIAU)

3rd Winner
Aditya Eka PS dan Ade Ariesta (TE Universitas Surabaya)

4th Winner
Iqbal Zakariah dan Mutmainnah (TE Universitas Hasanuddin)

5th Winner
Samuel Miarsa Lemuel dan Andri Pradipta (Elektro Maranatha)

6th Winner
Ryvo Octaviano dan M.Bitang HP (TE ITB)

Best Teamwork
Ifang Nafsan dan Dihanto (FT ITB)

1st Creative Team

Sholahudin N dan Riski Fitriyadi (TE POLTEK BATAM)

2nd Creative Team
Shinta Widyasari dan Arif Abdul Manan (Elektro Brawijaya)

3rd Creative Team
Dade Mukti Wijaya dan Joko Purwono (TM UGM)

And here’s the photos

And next, lately I’ve took a walk with my friends from ITB to a remote place in the north called Maribaya. I mean literally (again) walk, cause we’re really walking. No vehicles, just our feet. It’s probably 4-5 hours rough walking. through hills, caves (i mean it, really), and spooky forests.

We took the walk because we’re bored by blasted Bandung city life. We wanted to feel nature again. It was tough, but it was worthed. The view was sadisticly great!! and the experience also :D

Well you could just see all the photos :)

after that, we went back to Bandung by hitchhiking on a half-empty veggies truck :D

Double Kill!!!

Double Kill!! tehehehe,,,,, not bad,, climbing 2 mountains with less than 3 weeks interval. 3 weeks ago to Merbabu in Central Java with my highschool friends (Anggas & Ave), and just 2 days ago to Tangkuban Parahu in West Java with my university friends (Anggi, Iwa, Dana, Andjas, Alvan, Devid)..

Now i got broke, but doesn’t matter, it was fun.. hehehe….. fully refreshed now!! :D

Anyway, the climbings are just casual. Nothing really surprising happened. Except that in Merbabu I have to go alone from the third post to the top and come back in less than 3.5 hours (that makes me a runner in the mountain :-P ) and in Tangkuban Parahu the guide forgets the way and we got a little lost. But nothing is really surprising,,, at least they’re less surprising than Patuha… where we got completely lost and have to find our own way to the top :D

So, here’s the photos…

First the Merbabu ones…

Then the Tangkuban ones…

Great scenery, huh? :D

Last week I’ve just made a simple line following robot. So I want to share my experiences to you all. Especially electronic freaks and robot fans :D I say simple because it’s really so. Me and my friends (Setyo and Awal) just need 3 days total in building the robot.

Basically, just head to this page, it will help you with most of the basic theory needed for building the line follower. But I didn’t follow all the designs. I used a tank platform here. But I used project boards here. no PCBs. And there’s just a little difference in the mechanical design. The controller and everything’s just the same. But there are some schemes that will not work there. I’ll explain them and the way to debug.

First, the sensory scheme is not working with me. The receiver IRs won’t work. I dunno why. But I’ve made a little improvisation and it works. This is the scheme. Actually this is the sensory scheme from http://www.kmitl.ac.th.

Second, the program sourcecode will not work in Keil, so if you’re using Keil, you should compile this modified sourcecode.

If you do everything that is stated there and follow my debugging process, I think you’ll succeed.

Here is the pictures from my robot. His name’s Gugun :D

And here is the sensory circuit (it’s on the bottom of the robot)

bird-eye view

Anyway, good luck to all of you who want to make this thing :D

Nowadays kids….

Anak Kecil Jaman Sekarang by Setyo Adhi Vicaksono ( savmv@yahoo.com )

Wow! I’ve just got this image from my friend. This is a condition we encountered a few months ago when a music event is being held in ITB. He everlasted that condition and frame it to a good photo here.

What’s the uniqueness of this picture? Well, if you observe the relationship between their age and their fashion, you’ll get the unique point :D

Hmm,,, I wonder,,, is it i’m going old or kids are quick to mature (at least the style :D ) nowadays…

What’s your opinion? :D

P.S.: the photo is taken by my buddy Setyo Adhi Vicaksono. He’s an upcoming photo maestro :) . if you want to contact him, just call him at savmv@yahoo.com (4 Setyo: Here mate, I’ve fulfilled my promise :D )

I have some simple steps to disinfect this. Just read down below :-P

Seems like this virus has attacked so many people around me right now. I’ve took an attack too last few days, and I got hit rather hard by it. This virus attacked .exe files by adding some more size and making stupid antiviruses think that it is a virus. So if your antivirus is bad, it might just delete the files and ka-boom! your windows will be crashed… And if you’ve got attacked by that virus and you want to install an antivirus to prevent that, the .exe files of the antivirus will be infected too. That way, these stupid antiviruses will close it’s own program. So basically you can’t install antiviruses. I searched the internet, but there isn’t any simple moves to get rid of that in there.

So last night me and my friend tried something simple and it worked! The virus couldn’t be taken out entirely but it became harmless. And future antiviruses could remove it completely.

Here’s the steps:

1. Take your infected hard drive out of your PC.

2. Go to someone who have the latest updated Kaspersky antivirus (AVG won’t work, and i haven’t try the others…)

3. Put your hard drive to his/her PC

4. Run his/her windows.

5. Scan your hard drive using his/her Kaspersky antivirus. You’ll find out that most of your .exe files have been infected.

6. Disinfect all of them

7. You will find that some files in your system32 couldn’t be disinfected. this is the core of the virus. get rid of them.

8. You will find that a file couldn’t be deleted. this is the main problem. i haven’t find out how to delete this. Just leave it alone

9. Copy the installer of the kaspersky from his/her computer.

10. Run your windows, install the kaspersky and update it to the latest version

11. VOILA!! your PC is safe now.

After this, the main virus will try to infect files again but it will be blocked by kaspersky. Ignore it now. I myself couldn’t do anything about the main virus. But it is harmless as kaspersky will block it’s movement. As far as i know, no antiviruses could kill the main virus. But if you know something, please tell me. Sorry if the information is outdated or worthless. I couldn’t find something this simple in the net. I just thought that some people would want to know this…

That’s all……

Oh my Gosh!!!

I’ve just realized that I can’t access rapidshare, myspace, and youtube anymore with the common way!!

This is insane! What happened to my country’s freedom of informations???

What’s after this? Wikipedia? Google? CNN?

My Goodness…. I just can’t say anything…

I felt like living in China or in a Talibanese country… Argh… Somebody please stop this madness…

Youtube, Myspace, and Rapidshare are not bad sites.. I wonder what they’re thinking. Those websites educate us and make everything easy to us to get informations and educations. What’re they thinking?…. Only because of one film…

Once again, the government makes us draw back into DARK AGE by doing something crazy like this.. Don’t they want a better Indonesia? Don’t they want better informations to make us clever?? We’re stopping informations when other countries gets them easily. When could we surpass them if things continues to be like this???

THIS IS NOT DEMOCRACY!!!

18 trillions rupiahs to fool people… I dunno… But I feel like something’s wrong…

God please be with us……

I’ve just go home from ITB. I’ve been watching the electoral counting to elect a President for “Keluarga Mahasiswa (KM) ITB” (I don’t know how to say those in English, maybe “Student’s Association”? I dunno ^_^). The thrill in that place is so great that I want to write now to share my experience.

The air was thick with spirits of change and the thrill to win the election. All elements of the campus are moving forward, with their own intentions and goals, with great spirit. The air was thick with competition. Just like the last election. ITB students are moving to succeed the greatest event of democracy in this year.

But what makes it great is that the candidates are competing with good sportivity. As far as I can see today, as the place is filled with strong compassions and desires to win, the place is filled with gladness too. I could still hear the laughter. I could still see the smile on everybody’s face. Very very democratic! I love my campus!

Well, maybe there are bad intentions and doing from all sides these days. But today I see nothing more than the eagerness to succeed the election. And it’s good.

Well, I’m just glad to see that democracy still live in this campus. Frankly, lately I’ve been worried with many bad rumors that this year’s election will not be as good as before, but now I know that the rumors were untrue. In fact, I see that maybe this election will be better than the previous ones. We all hope so, don’t we?

Hmmm, I think I’ve pushed myself to write too hard. It’s half past twelve in the evening, I’m so tired and yet I’m still typing. Now I’ve felt too tired. Maybe I’ll take a rest now. The counting is still in progress. Two candidates are running for each other just as I type. The difference is so little that I can’t even predict who will win. I’ll just say: Good luck. May the God be with us. May He show us the best way for us (ITB). Amen.

Oh, yes, I nearly forgot. There is a chance that a history will be written here today. From the three candidates who run for the election, there is a strong female candidate now. Maybe this is just common at other places, but in ITB, this is new. Never has a female candidate race with a male competitor to run for the top this tightly before. If she win, she will be the first female president of our student university. That’s a history. So there’s a chance that a history will be written here today, as the counting is still in progress.

Anyway, whoever wins takes the prize. It may be anybody. If somebody wins, then he/she is the best. All must accept that. Good luck for all candidates. May the best win!!!

Wow! I’ve just known that Electrical Engineering ITB ‘81 has many great people inside! Especially great people on Information Technology! I felt rather shocked because all of them are young lecturers and researchers I admire for their intelligence and spirit!

Consider these names (correct me if I’m wrong, I apologize for any inaccuracy):

  1. Bambang Riyanto -great AI figure
  2. Onno W. Purbo – great IT figure
  3. Budi Rahardjo – great IT figure (considered the best in information system security technology)
  4. Armein Z.R. Langi – great Rural Communication figure, director of a research center in ITB
  5. Suhono Harso Supangkat – Indonesia’s Ministry of Information and Communication Technology Expert Staff
  6. Adi Indrayanto – great Neural Networks figure

Great, huh? Wow! I don’t know how it could be. Many great people comes from the same educational background from the same year. I can’t imagine the atmosphere when they studied back then. It could be so great to meet intelligent people every day back then. I felt so fascinated when I first read about these facts!

Well, maybe the greatness could be explained by one of them’s saying that said that at their times, that year’s students competed pridely with each other so hard that they never took the opportunity to cheat. It is shameful for them to cheat. Instead they struggled so hard. Pushing their limitations so hard so that they could overcome the others.

Hmmm, if I may compare their life back then with nowadays’ life, well, I feel ashamed of my year… Seems like the aura of competition and the ‘ITB-ean’ pride has gone,,

In my own year, it seems the world has turned upside down. What good becomes bad, what bad becomes good. In my year, cheating has become a COOL TREND!…

It seems so weird, but many people in my year acts like a hero, a great man who’s done something great and cool, acts like a superstar when they passed an exam without studying,, and sadly most of them are my best buddies…… And most of them told me that we who refuses to cheat are just simply stupid because everybody does it. Seems like there’s an opinion that we won’t become great people if we don’t cheat now. They always tell me that every Indonesian bureaucrate cheats. If they don’t, they will just become nothing….
I don’t know, maybe it’s just like what they said. Things change. What has become a pride becomes stupidity now. I don’t know. Maybe? But I don’t know what will happen to us when we graduates if we continue like this. Can we become what Indonesian people demand from ITB? A trouble-solver, not a trouble-maker?

I remember an old sayings that said that, “The lion only has it’s pride. If he lose it, he’ll become indifferent with a long-haired cat…”

They said that we (ITB people) were the people’s best hope. The people awaits our intelligent brains and skillful hands. But now we have lost our pride,,, the thing that differs us from the others,,, so how can they tell that we’re different from other people? If the best of us has been taken, how can we make something good?….

Well, I couldn’t write more. So many things I want to say. So many that they overload my head and just get stuck there and won’t come out. But, that’s all I want to say…
